Irrigate as required

The early detection of drought stress in tree crowns through the use of Pulse enables proactive irrigation planning. This leads to more efficient use of employee resources, reduces the need for tree felling and saves water through demand-based irrigation.

Continuous documentation

The continuous documentation of the water balance of trees enables data-based strategic decisions and improves seasonal planning and evaluation. Our customers benefit from precise long-term data on tree health, which is clearly visualized in the TreeSense Cloud to ensure effective tree care.

Evaluate maintenance measures

By continuously monitoring the water balance with Pulse, customers can evaluate the effectiveness of tree care measures such as soil loosening and crown pruning based on data. This precise information supports well-founded planning and optimization of future care strategies.

Area of application: Self-sufficient operation, independent of electricity. Operation as NB-IoT or LoRaWAN version available.

Measuring parameters: Electrical resistance and temperature

Resistance measurement:

  • Measuring range [kOhm]: 1 - 500

Temperature measurement:

  • Measuring range: -40°C - 125°C
  • Measuring accuracy: +-1°C
  • Resolution: 0.1°C

Measuring interval: adjustable, 15 min as standard

TreeSense Pulse

Is Pulse suitable for all tree species?

Yes, Pulse is suitable for all tree species. The sensor measures the water balance directly in the tree crown, regardless of tree species or age, and thus provides accurate data for every type of tree. The monitoring of old trees that are particularly worthy of protection is more extensive, but also worthwhile.

What maintenance cycles does Pulse have?

Pulse has an expected lifetime of around 10 years without battery replacement. The batteries in Pulse RL and Pulse RN should generally be replaced every 2-3 years. We also recommend repositioning the screw holder once a year to avoid loose contacts. The TreeSense Cloud automatically indicates when this is necessary.

How does data transmission work?

Data is transmitted via LoRaWAN or NB-IoT, depending on the model. Both enable reliable and energy-efficient remote transmission of the collected data for further analysis. The LoRa sensor technology is configured to TTN as standard, but can be customized free of charge.

How does Pulse differ from soil moisture sensors?

While soil moisture provides information about the environment, Pulse provides direct insight into the plant's water balance by measuring the electrical resistance in the water-bearing layer. TreeSense combines this data to calculate a moisture index, which serves as a precise monitoring tool for the plant's water balance.
